Wednesday Renewed for Second Season
Wednesday is heading back to Nevermore for another creepy and kooky year. Netflix has renewed Wednesday, the series based on The Addam’s Family character, for a second season.
“It’s been incredible to create a show that’s connected with people across the world,” Wednesday co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough said. “We’re thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into season two.”
Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega as the gothic, twisted teen who starts attending Nevermore Academy, her parents’ alma mater, after being kicked out of a public school for dumping piranha in the pool. As soon as Wednesday arrives, she gets pulled into the hunt for a monster that’s killing people in the woods and a decades old mystery surrounding her parents.
Several episodes of the series were directed by executive producer and master of the oddities, Tim Burton. The show also stars Gwendoline Christie, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Riki Lindhome, and Jamie McShane, with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams.
