Original Han Solo Blaster Heads to Auction
Get ready to shoot (or bid) first on a very rare piece of Star Wars memorabilia. Han Solo’s blaster from Star Wars: A New Hope that was thought to be lost, has resurfaced and is up for auction.
The BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster that Harrison Ford carried in one of his most beloved roles is being offered by Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) in the August Premier Auction on August 26-28, 2022. It is believed to be the lone surviving blaster prop from the original Star Wars trilogy and is estimated to sell for at least $300,000.
Star Wars props have seen significant success at auction, including one of Han Solo’s blasters from Return of the Jedi that sold for $550,000 in 2018. A year before that, an R2-D2 droid sold for $2.75 million, and an original X-wing miniature sold for $2.3 million in June 2022.
In the August Premier Auction, RIAC will also offer a pair of pistols that Angelina Jolie used in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and a revolver that historians believe Wild Bill Hickok had on him when he was killed in Deadwood, SD.
